Hi friends!
Let me begin by introducing myself to you. My name is Captain Pumpkin Head, and I’m very happy to make your acquaintance!
While I’m sure you’re familiar with pumpkins, I’m not sure if you know of a magical place called Pumpkin Patch Peninsula or whether you know about my fellow jack-o-lanterns or my adventures! And did you know that pumpkins can read and write? Yeah, in fact, I have a pen-pal, and his name is Benji. You can read some of our letters to each other as part of my exciting new book entitled The Adventures of Captain Pumpkin Head!
Oh, and get this – I rap! My songs are in the book and are available for download when you sign up to receive the Captain’s Newsletter! Learn More About the book!
"A magical new Halloween book to add to our collection. Full of imagination and suspense, my kids loved it! My 12 year old read it independently. I enjoyed reading the book over several nights to my 9 year old. This book offers enough contemporary excitement and action to capture and sustain the imagination of a child offered within the context of traditional (seasonal) nostalgic Halloween themes for an adult reader."

You will find yourself amazed in the detailed mystical journey of CPT Pumpkin Head’s success against all odds far away from home. His caring for others is what drives him to fulfill his dream. This is a wonderful story for all ages regardless of the age category stated on Amazon."
- DAD of a 5 + 9 yr old

A kid at heart with a passion for family, music, sports and writing, Joe Krahn was born and raised in Wisconsin though has called Northern Virginia home for most of his adult life. Joe is happily married to his wife, Esme, and is a proud father to their four wonderful children – Malia, Nathan, Cecilia, and Isaac. By day, Joe serves as a federal legislative advocate for local governments; by night, you can find him coaching soccer or dreaming up Captain Pumpkin Head’s next Halloween adventure or rap song.
Hey everyone! Feel free to send me a note about anything you’d like to chat about. My favorite topics include Halloween, raps and music, fall activities, and pumpkins, of course!
